Our History
After 15 years of hard work and dedication to the electrical industry they embarked upon opening their own electrical business in October of 1993.
Dale gained his experience working with a local electrical contractor and a local municipality. Dale has acquired an Unlimited Mechanical Contractors license in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia
Cynthia, the Company Administrator, attended and received her Associates in Business and acquired her experience by working with local HVAC and Plumbing contractors.
The company started serving the community through residential, commercial and institutional projects. In 2009, the business began to gravitate towards concentrating on commercial and institutional projects as well as electrical design. Welchel Electrical Contractors’ goal and focus is to design and install the Mechanical Electrical portion of a project in a professional manner while exemplifying craftsmanship of the trade. Our Company goals are projects with values up to $2 million.
Matthew Dale Welchel , Dale and Cynthia’s son, officially joined the company in 2003. As a High School Co-Op student, Matthew set his goals as an electrician’s helper, electrician and currently a Lead Project Manager. Matthew has successfully managed many of the company’s largest projects.
He currently holds a South Carolina Mechanical Contractors license and a CDL Class A license.

Matthew Welchel
Matthew started working with WECI while in high school in 2003 through a co-op program with Swofford Carrer Center. Matthew curently holds his South Carolina Mechanical Contractors License.
Larry Parris
Larry has been in the construction industry since 1988 and has been with WECI since 2001.
Lloyd Hardin
Lloyd has been in construction industry since 1993 and has been with WECI since 2010. Lloyd currently holds his South Carolina Masters Electrical License.
